General Manager
Reports To: VP
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and provides leadership across office administration, sales support, accounting functions, human resources, and project operations to ensure efficient business performance and exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, experience managing multiple departments, and the ability to coordinate office operations, staff performance, financial processes, and customer-facing activities. Experience within the construction, industrial contracting, HVAC, mechanical systems, or dust collection industries is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
* Direct and oversee day-to-day business operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
* Establish and maintain operational procedures, policies, and performance standards.
* Coordinate activities between sales, project management, installation crews, vendors, and administrative staff.
* Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, and operational workflows.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
* Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, labor laws, and company policies.
Sales Leadership & Support
* Assist in managing and supporting the sales team to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
* Review sales pipeline, forecasts, customer opportunities, and proposal activity.
* Collaborate with sales representatives on pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and customer relationship management.
* Participate in key client meetings and support business development efforts.
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive accountability within the sales organization.
Financial Management & Accounting
* Oversee daily financial operations and ensure adherence to sound accounting practices.
* Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, job costing, and cash flow monitoring.
* Review financial statements, budgets, profit-and-loss reports, and operational metrics.
* Coordinate with outside accountants and financial professionals as needed.
* Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
* Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Human Resources Management
* Oversee all HR-related functions including recruiting, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, and employee retention.
* Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
* Manage employee benefits administration and HR policies.
* Support leadership development and workforce planning initiatives.
* Handle employee concerns and assist in conflict resolution.
* Foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
Customer & Vendor Relations
* Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure service excellence.
* Negotiate vendor agreements and evaluate supplier performance.
* Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Required
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
* Minimum 5-10 years of management experience in construction, contracting, industrial services, manufacturing, mechanical systems, or related industries.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and payroll processes.
* Experience managing HR operations and employment compliance.
* Demonstrated success leading teams and managing cross-functional operations.
* Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business management software.
